HPMC (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose) capsules are plant-based, two-piece hard shells made from cellulose derivatives. They are the leading alternative to gelatin capsules, widely preferred for vegetarian, vegan, clean-label, and moisture-sensitive formulations in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and herbal supplements.
HPMC capsules are inherently BSE/TSE-free, compatible with Halal and Kosher standards, and offer superior performance for hygroscopic or oxidation-prone fills due to their low moisture content and excellent oxygen barrier properties.
